Mental health indicators are declining not only in the face of pandemics and war, but are also greatly influenced by the increasing sense of alienation among people, growing social divisions, and economic factors. One of the most psychologically sensitive segments of society is the community of performers and other artists.
Starting from January 2023, the 'Vocal Art Network' (Vokalinio meno tinklas) group, in collaboration with the project's idea creators Vaidas Bartuš and Eglė Radavičiūtė, is launching a new initiative – a podcast on the topic of artists' mental health called 'Something Doesn't Fit Here' (Kažkas čia nedera) The goal of this project is to make a significant contribution to mental health education within the artistic community.
In creating the podcast content, we are collaborating with the 'Depression and Anxiety Treatment Center' (Depresijos įveikimo centras) and its director, Aušra Mockuviene, with a resident doctor at the Vilnius City Mental Health Center and the Republican Vilnius Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Martynas Ruzga, with Dr. Dainius Jakučionis, a psychotherapist, with Raminta Girdvaine, a change coach and cognitive-behavioral therapy consultant, with psychotherapists Gediminas Tumėnas and Inga Juodkūnė.
